Free Baseball Picks – July 13 (From PayPerHead.com)

PayPerHead.com has your FREE Baseball picks for Saturday July 13.

Game 1: Kansas City Royals @ Cleveland Indians – Saturday, July 13

No matter which bookie software you trust, you should deal carefully with this game. This tilt between the visiting Royals and the homestanding Indians could turn in either direction. On one hand, Kansas City starter Jeremy Guthrie, with a 4.12 ERA, is coming off a strong start this past Monday night in a victory over the New York Yankees. Guthrie, a talented pitcher whose ERA is almost two-thirds of a run lower than the mark possessed by Cleveland starter Scott Kazmir (4.74 ERA), could very well outpitch his counterpart on Saturday night in Ohio.

On the other hand, Kazmir has allowed a total of just six earned runs in his last four starts combined. Cleveland has had a lot of problems this year in its starting rotation, specifically in relation to the inability of its starters to go deep into games. Kazmir, though, has completed seven innings in two of his last four starts. He’s performing well, and more instructively, he has clearly outpitched Guthrie the past three weeks. Take Kazmir and the Tribe here.

MLB Betting Pick: Cleveland

Game 2: San Francisco Giants @ San Diego Padres – Saturday, July 13

A fragile matchup in any sport is one that occurs between two cratering clubs. San Francisco has lost eight of its last 10 games, while San Diego had lost 10 straight before grabbing a win on Tuesday night against Colorado. Neither team merits trust on its own, but when putting these teams together, one would have to think that San Francisco, its pride wounded, will take the field with a sense of purpose. San Francisco starter Tim Lincecum has been less than special for the Giants, but San Diego starter Edinson Volquez, saddled with a 5.33 ERA, is not likely to outpitch him. Take the Giants in this spot.

MLB Betting Pick: San Francisco

Game 3: Houston Astros @ Tampa Bay Rays – Saturday, July 13

The sports betting sites that take action on Major League Baseball are going to lean strongly in one direction here; this is not a 50-50 call or anything close to it. Tampa Bay thrashed Houston in the Lone Star State on two occasions last week, and then won an extra-inning game to take three of four from the Astros on the road. Houston remains buried at the bottom of the American League West and the American League in general. The Astros have shown a few signs of life here and there, at different points in the season, but the essential insight connected to them is that they haven’t been able to sustain quality for long stretches of time. Houston starter Erik Bedard is therefore a microcosm of his team; though talented, his lack of both arm strength and stamina has prevented him from getting more mileage out of his big-league career. He is similarly talented in a head-to-head comparison with Tampa Bay starter Roberto Hernandez, but Houston needs a substantial advantage in a pitching matchup in order to be seen as the favorite. That’s just not the case here. Go with the Rays.

MLB Betting Pick: Tampa Bay
