18 Arrests in Offshore Bookmaking Operation Run by Police Officers

AddThis Social Bookmark Button A bookmaking operation run by two police officers has been quashed by New York State police who are slated to announce the arrests of 18 individuals, most of whom are agents in the business.

The offshore company cited in the complaint is based out of Costa Rica, www.50Ksports.com which primarily wrote business for the bookmaking group.

Suspects were rounded up throughout the night and early morning.  Millions of dollars were run through the business, but an exact amount was not disclosed to Gambling911.com. 

The charges are enterprise corruption and the investigation is ongoing with more arrests likely in the coming weeks.  All of Wednesday's arrests took place throughout Long Island and New York City. 

A press conference is scheduled later today.
