The filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware estimates the organization has between $10 million and $50 million in both assets and liabilities. Former coaches Bob Stoops and Marc Trestman are among the creditors with the largest unsecured claims.

The WWE-backed XFL canceled the rest of its return season last month because of the coronavirus pandemic. It suspended operations and laid off its employees Friday.

The WWE will be allowed to resume shows in Florida after being deemed "an essential business" in Orange County. Mayor Jerry Deming made the declaration Monday.

According to Demings, the WWE initially was not designated as essential and therefore not exempt from the state's shelter-in-place order, which took effect April 1 and runs through April 30. That decision was reversed after "some conversation" with Gov. Ron DeSantis' office, Demings said during a Monday news conference.

"I think initially there was a review that was done. They were not initially deemed an essential business," Demings said. "With some conversation with the governor's office regarding the governor's order, they were deemed an essential business. So therefore they were allowed to remain open."

“Until there’s a sense that people can get together, not just to fill our arenas but even our players to get together to work out, we don’t know when we can come back,” NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman told Anderson Cooper. “We’re exploring and want to be prepared for every option, whenever the circumstances present themselves. So, we haven’t ruled anything in, we haven’t ruled anything out and we’ll be prepared to go in whatever direction makes sense at the time.”

Few details have emerged thus far about a potential return to basketball, but on Sunday ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that executives and trainers have been discussing a 25-day plan for the season to resume.

"What they're looking at is a 25-day return to basketball window. Hopefully at some point they can enact it," Windhorst said. "An 11-day series of individual workouts, where there'd be social distancing for a period of time, and then hopefully, if the clearance comes that they can play five-on-five basketball, a 14-day training camp."
