World Series of Poker: Ben Afleck, Leonardo Di
Caprio odds of winning not good
All your favorite
celebrities are playing in this year's World Series
of Poker - well, maybe not all of them, but a lot of
big names are. They includes the likes
of Ben Afleck, Leonardo Di Caprio, Mimi Rogers and
Jerry Buss.
Even better, you can actually bet on your favorite
celebrities to win the 2006 World Series of Poker at
odds that will make you richer than the winners.
PinnacleSports.com (See
Web Site Here)
features perhaps the best menu of World Series of
Poker player props on the planet.
"The odds of a big
name celebrity winning the World Series of Poker is
close to zero," commented Gambling911.com columnist
Payton O'Brien. "It's never happened before
and this is why you can bet on someone like Ben
Affleck for $100 to win close to $180,000."
The Rio All Suite
Hotel in Las Vegas Nevada will host the tournament
from July 28th to the final play downs on August
10th. Front runners to take the title include five
time bracelet winner Phil Iveyand Daniel Negreanu.
Afleck is listed
with odds of +180000 while Di Caprio comes in with
odds of +270000. Celebrity poker pro Mimi
Rogers is listed with odds of +1800000.
"These are great
bets for anyone who wants to lay down just a little
bit of money to win a whole lot of money," said
O'Brien. "The field is so large and as a
result the payouts are extraordinary."
Afleck may have
long odds to win but he's no stranger to the poker
circuit. In fact, he's pretty good. In
2004, the actor outlasted a field of 90 players to
capture the Commerce Casino's California State
Poker
Championship. That tournament paid out over
$350,000.
Di Caprio, who will
be starring as Billy Costigan in an upcoming Martin
Scorsese Irish mob flick due out this October, also
ranks among poker's most elite players.
Legendary poker player Doyle Brunson himself is a
major investor in a documentary produced by DiCaprio
that examines the unverified but intriguing theory
of global warming and its impact on the environment.

will be on hand to kick off this year's World Series
of Poker tournament. The entire crew,
including poker pro/reporter Jenny Woo, will be on
hand. Woo is slated to compete in the FHM All
Women's Poker Tournament in Norway later this summer
sponsored by
Purple-Lounge.
"Be sure to watch
for our interviews with Pamela Anderson, Doyle
Brunson, Cindy Margolis and a whole host of other
professional players and celebrities," O'Brien said.
