WSOP Playing Field Cut Down to 62

By 7:00 pm PST Saturday, there were only 67 players left in the 2007 WSOP.  That number dropped to around 60 by 9 pm.  Notables like Humberto Brenes and Huck Seed were eliminated.  Dane Gus Hansen was knocked out shortly after 7 pm PST

Leading the pack was pro Lee Watkinson

Other pros still vying for a shot of the big multi-million dollar prize included:

Scotty Nguyen, the Vietnamese player who now calls Vegas his home.  Nguyen has won $2.3 mil during his lifetime of tournament play.

Kenny Tran has managed to squeak out close to $600,000 lifetime winnings.

David Tran might not be considered a pro - yet.  But he has taken home most of those still left playing and is guaranteed to take home even more after this weekend, having won over $100,000 life time in tournaments.

Ayaz Mahmood has won lifetime $311,000.

Daniel Alaei has won over $600,000 during his playing career.  He ranked among the lower chip leaders (under one million).
