UFC
News: Din Thomas Calls out Floyd Mayweather
At 30 years old, Din
Thomas beat Jeremy Stephens in UFC 71 and sat down
to speak with
BetUS.com (see
website here),
one of the online gambling websites that offered
betting odds on last Saturday's event. Now he
wants to go up against Floyd Mayweather.
UFC 71 became the
biggest bet on Ultimate Fighting Championship event
to date according to betting sites and
Gambling911.com traffic. The UFC is reportedly
excited to be building a solid reputation among
sports bettors, similar to the history of boxing and
horse racing.
Thomas was one of
the few favorites to win UFC 71 with odds of -325.

Thomas discussed
his extensive boxing experience and in doing so
called out Floyd Mayweather. (listen
to podcast here)
Floyd Mayweather
put down Mixed Martial Arts recently and Thomas
expressed how offended he was.
"It's motivated by
jealousy," says Thomas, who felt he was speaking for
everyone in the MMA.
He challenged
Mayweather to a fight during the BetUS.com podcast.
"I take this stuff
to heart," Thomas continued. "I am a big fan
of boxing. But when the best boxer in the
world makes a comment like that, you are not gonna
get away with it."
Boxing is widely
seen as threatened by the UFC.
Din Thomas holds a record of 20 wins, 6 losses. He currently runs 2 successful MMA academies in Port St Lucie, FL and is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Ricardo Liborio. Thomas fights out of Florida and trains with American Top Team.
Thomas was featured on The Ultimate Fighter 4 reality show. Thomas' first round fight was against Mikey Burnett. Thomas quickly and effectively defeated Burnett with a triangle choke in the first round. Thomas' semifinal fight was against friend and show training partner Chris Lytle. After the third round, Thomas lost to Lytle by unanimous decision, eliminating him from the competition.
