Trevor Immelman Wins the 2008 US Masters With 50/1 Odds

He opened as a long shot paying $5000 for every $100 bet.  Coming into Sunday, Trevor Immelman was an even favorite to win the 2008 US Masters after leading the whole time, and that's exactly what happened.  South African, Trevor Immelman, wins the 2008 US Masters.

Going for his first major championship, Trevor Immelman made clutch one putts on three straight holes around Amen Corner to build a five-shot Masters lead with fives holes to go Sunday, and he didn't fall behind.  Forget about pressure.

Tiger Woods was five strokes behind on a windy day at Augusta National, having squandered a chance to get closer when he missed a 5-footer for birdie at No. 13.

Immelman's lone victory on the U.S. PGA Tour came at the 2006 Western Open. He went on to win the tour's rookie of the year honors that year with eight top-10 finishes and a seventh- place finish on the money list.

Woods, in search of his fifth Masters title, hasn't won a major tournament when trailing after three rounds.

Stewart Cink and Brandt Snedeker finished behind Woods, who was in second place.

Last year's British Open winner, Padraig Harrington, finished in the 6th position.
