Tiger Woods Odds to Win the 2008 US Masters

Tiger Woods is once again the favorite to win the 2008 US Masters.  It wouldn't matter how poorly he is playing over a period of time.  It doesn't matter how solid other participating golfers are or how many championships they have won (Australian Retief Goosen has walked off with two US Open wins for example), Tigers Woods will always be made the favorite by online bookmakers.

Woods will launch his bid for a fifth green jacket and 14th major title on Friday having triumphed in nine of his last 11 starts.   Only three players in the last 42 years have won consecutive titles at Augusta, but he's one of them, having done it in 2001 and '02.

Steve Stricker said that when Woods said it was within reason to win all four majors this year, he didn't blink.

"He's the only player capable of doing that," Stricker said. "And you know, I wouldn't be surprised if he does do it.

"I think the odds are not in his favor. There's so many good players . . . so many capable . . . of getting their own little runs and playing well. He's going to have to play at the top of his game to do it."
