Tiger
Woods Masters Betting Odds
Who will be clad in green come Sunday evening? If you ask Sportsbook.com’s betting public it appears as if the one and only Tiger Woods is the not so surprising choice. Despite having the least generous odds (7-5), about 28% of the action is counting on Tiger winning his fifth Masters in eleven years. Right behind Tiger is his rival and the owner of two of the last three green jackets in Phil Mickelson (8-1).
This is Carrie Stroup reporting for Sports911.com.
Given his recent success in Augusta, and the fact that he has finished in the top 10 every year since 1999 it is surprising that only 11% of the early volume is behind the big lefty despite his generous odds. Vijay Singh was the top ranked golfer for 32 weeks in 2004 and 2005 in addition to being the PGA Tour’s leading money winner in 2003 and 2004. Last year Vijay slumped a bit winning only one tournament but is off to a fast start having won two tour events already in 2007. Singh always shows up for the Masters as he has placed between fifth and eighth place for the last five years. 5.3% of Sportsbook.com bettors are hoping that Singh (10-1) will win his first Major since 2004 and his first Masters since 2000. There seems to be some interest in long shot Henrik Stenson (25-1) as 3.1% of the early bettors are counting on the Swedes putting talents to put him over the top.
