Tiger Woods Best Value Yet: Would Pay Out $450 on a $100 Bet

Tiger Woods had been the big favorite to win the 2007 British Open heading right into Friday but his luck and that of gamblers placing bets on Woods may have changed dramatically heading into Saturday.

But for those of you who still believe Woods could win, the oddsmakers have provided a gift heading into early Saturday morning.  Woods would pay out $450 on a $100 bet.  (All Odds Courtesy of Sportsbook.com)

"Wow!" declared Sports911.com Senior Editor Payton O'Brien.  "These are some of the best odds we have seen on Tiger in recent memory.  Could fatherhood have made him a mere mortal?"

Tiger Woods, seeking to cut a seven- shot deficit to leader Sergio Garcia today, is turning to swing coach Hank Haney to keep alive his hopes of winning a third straight British Open golf title.

Woods yesterday began his second round at Carnoustie in northeast Scotland by hooking an iron out of bounds, an error that cost him two strokes. The world's top-ranked golfer finished with a 74 and is 1-over par heading into the third round. Woods said yesterday that he was going to discuss his wayward hitting with Haney, his coach since March 2004.

``Hopefully we can fix it,'' Woods, a 12-time major champion, told reporters.

Woods, who found 12 of 15 fairways in the opening round, hit five yesterday, making it tougher to get his approach shots close to the flags.

Garcia was the new favorite at 9 to 4 odds.
