The Sopranos Finale: Who Got Whacked?

The Sopranos finale had everyone talking about who would get whacked following the execution of Bobby and near fatal shooting of Silvio last weekend.  You could also place bets on the show.

Yep it was Phil Leotardo at -400 to die first and that's exactly what happened.

ABC News pointed out this week that about 40 percent of people said they want Tony Soprano to live, and 21 percent think he shouldn't, according to a poll by Fairleigh Dickinson University's Public Mind. Avid watchers are twice as likely as more casual fans to root for his survival.

But, according to the survey, Americans are split on what Tony's future will hold, disagreeing on whether the Jersey mobster will go behind bars, enter a witness protection program, turn honest or continue a life of crime.

For now, bettors favor Tony surviving. The odds went all the way to -400 at bookmakers like Bodog.com that Tony would survive the Sopranos finale.  Phil Leotardo, meanwhile, was a huge underdog at +300 to survive.

Sopranos fans worldwide had their own theories and predictions heading into Sunday night's episode.

Our own Tyrone Black predicted that  Dr. Melfi commits suicide

Everyone's favorite tri-sexual, Sparky Collins, predicted that Adriana is alive and would reappear at Silvio's bedside.

The folks from CakePoker told us that the guy who starred in Doogie Howser and watched over Carmela while Tony lay in the hospital was going to kill Phil Leotardo.  The Cake people were among those who got wind of Johnny Sac dying first this season.

"We knew he would be the first one dead but didn't know if it was going to be a whack or by natural causes," said a Cake Poker spokesperson.

"People will bet on anything," our Christopher Costigan told Bloomberg News this week. "A lot of people want to bet on who will die of natural causes and who's going to get whacked."

So who got whacked on the Sopranos Finale?

As we point out above, Phil Leotardo it turns out had fallen out of favor with his crew.  Carmine and the New York boys met up with Tony and his crew.  Carmine, however, quickly disappeared.

Phil Leotardo was the first to die in the Sopranos Finale....shot dead at a gas station and run over by his own SUV.

The finale ended mysteriously when the Soprano family meeting at a diner and some interesting characters hovering over with the presumption that something terrible was going to happen.  But what happens with Meadow running into the dinner....We just don't know.  The screen went black and the credits started rolling.
