The Jessica Simpson Curse: Can the Dallas Cowboys Recover?

She has sunk her claws into Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and there is no telling what may happen now.  While Eli Manning is practicing hard for his game this coming weekend against the Cowboys, Romo is reportedly spending his days before the big game in Mexico with playmate, Jessica Simpson.

She might not even have to show up at the game to ruin this one and that has a lot of Giants fans thrilled.  Not since Linda Blair in the Exorcist has such a jinx reared its ugly head.  The good news is that Jessica Simpson can spin her head around a few times, spit out pea soup and still look hot as hell.  Giants fans will certainly enjoy her presence at the game.

Already, some of the online bookmakers have pushed this line all the way to Dallas -9 while most hold steady at -7 1/2 (where the line opened Sunday).

One online gambling website, Sportsbook.com, has offered betting odds on whether Jessica Simpson will show up at the Dallas Cowboys/New York Giants Divisional Playoffs game, making her a -140 favorite not to show.

But will it really matter if Romo hasn't practiced as hard as Manning?

Pictures surfaced over the weekend of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and pop star Jessica Simpson vacationing in Mexico just days before a playoff game.

NBC reports that the couple were vacationing in Los Cabos, Mexico, with a few friends, including fellow Cowboys Jason Witten, Marc Columbo and Bobby Carpenter. The photos show the group relaxing on a patio and Simpson spending time in the pool.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips instructed his players to take advantage of the first round playoff bye and to get away from football for a few days, NBC reported.

"People will look for blame if you lose and will basically let all that stuff go when you win because they don't think it was relevant and it isn't," said Phillips.

But the vacation time has caused a bit of controversy.

"We don't look at it any other way than to get away and enjoy it. It's no different than jumping on a flight and going home like some of the guys did here," said Witten.

Romo did not speak with the media after the team's practice on Monday, but Witten spoke up for him.

"He [Romo] can't go anywhere here, so the best thing he can do is jump on an hour and a half flight and get away," said Witten.
