"We are excited to have HPT back at Golden Gates in July and we're excited for the televised Main Event," said Golden Gates poker room manager John Padmore. "With a variety of events scheduled, including the new Tag Team tournament, we expect a large turnout and huge prize pools as we always see with HPT."

Buy-ins for the July 10-22 series will start at just $60. In total, the schedule features nine events but there are a multitude of satellites and qualifiers on the lineup as well. The festivities begin Wednesday, July 10 with a two-day $400 no-limit hold'em tournament that has seen upwards of 1,000 entries at recent events.

The biggest prize of the series will almost assuredly go to the winner of the nationally televised $1,100 Main Event on the second weekend of the series. Last July, the Main Event drew 763 total participants with local man Ben Brown taking home the $159,131 top prize. Brown's victory would be spotlighted in a one-hour TV episode that aired on dozens of networks across the country.

Perhaps the biggest addition to the schedule at Golden Gates Casino this time around is the unique $400 Tag Team tournament. In this event, a pair of players puts up $200 apiece and each gets their own starting stack. Partners are seated at different tables. Every 8 to 20 minutes the tournament staff will randomly announce "Switch!" at which point the players switch seats with their partners, even if in the middle of a hand.

"The Tag Team event has become one of the most popular tournaments on the schedule since we implemented it last year," HPT tournament director Jeremy Smith said. "We saw a ton of players stop in for this series on their way back from Vegas last summer. We're anticipating another big turnout this year."

Golden Gates Casino & Poker Parlour is located in the former gold mining city of Black Hawk, nestled in the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 8,500 feet. The property is a one-hour scenic drive from the Denver International Airport. Between Golden Gates and its two sister properties, Golden Mardi Gras and Golden Gulch Casinos, there are more than 650 slots, 39 table games, and a number of dining options and bars open 24 hours.

Guests traveling in for this series will have a number of hotel options within walking distance of the 17-table poker room at Golden Gates. The nearby Grand Z Casino is offering rates as low as $69.99 per night with code HPT19. Call 800-924-6646 to make a reservation today.
