Mohegan Sun Pocono will soon be offering sports betting.

The casino got the green light Wednesday from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board in Harrisburg to open a sports betting lounge on site, making it the only casino in northeastern and central Pennsylvania to have legalized sports betting.

“You're going to have the people that want to come, have a few drinks, have something to eat, and watch the games with their friends,” Casino president Tony Carlucci. “And then you're going to have the people that just want to come in really quick, put a bet in and then leave.”

The new sportsbook will be located near the entrance.  The casino hopes to have it open in time for football.
