SportingBet
back in Canadian
Sports Betting
Market
SportingBet is back!
But only in Canada,
eh? Pity.
Obviously, they also
take bets throughout
much of the rest of
the world...just not
the USA.
SportingBet Plc has
moved back into
North American, but
only for those in
the Great White
North. The
publically traded
company this week
launched its new
Canadian-focused
sports betting
website (See
Website here),
which will allow the
UK-based company to
offer its premium
service to the
ever-expanding
Canadian sports
betting market.
The new Sportingbet
website is actually
available to all
non-US gamblers.
The expansion into
Canada is just
another component of
SportingBet’s
aggressive expansion
plan, which has seen
growth into other
sports betting
hotbeds.
“We are very excited
about entering the
Canadian sports
betting market,”
says Gary Lewis,
head of Canadian
Operations. “We are
committed to
offering Canadian
customers more of
what they want to
see: more sports,
more products and
more promotions.”
As for bonuses,
Sportingbet is
offering a free $50
wager for all new
accounts, after
having placed a $50
bet, as well as a
$1.5 million
basketball contest
where three lucky
winners will have a
chance to win the
grand prize by
winning a basketball
shooting contest
against other
contestants in a
European venue.
Currently,
SportingBet takes
bets on 22 sports
from all over the
globe.
See Website here
But for the Canadian
marketplace,
SportingBet offers a
myriad of wagers,
including daily
In-Play wagering,
which has become
wildly popular.
Here, bettors can
wager on their
favorite NHL and NBA
games while the game
is in progress.
Major League
Baseball and the
Canadian Football
League will be added
when the two leagues
start up at the end
of March and June
respectively.
“With over four
million clients,
we’ve more than
shown that
SportingBet has the
sports betting and
gaming products for
anyone’s taste,”
adds Lewis. Along
with its sportsbook,
SportingBet offers
poker, casino games,
backgammon, and
wagering on the
financial markets.
With its extensive
bookmaking
background, and
strong technical and
financial platforms,
SportingBet should
quickly gain
recognition from the
Canadian sports
bettor.
Operating out of
regulated and
licensed markets
since 1998,
SportingBet has been
listed on the AIM
market of the London
Stock Exchange since
2001. SportingBet is
licensed and
regulated by the
Alderney Gambling
Commission in the
Channel Islands off
the coast of
England.
