Marge Simpson Has Left The Building: Simpsons Creator Busts Out of WSOPNo more Marge Simpson as her creator, Sam Simon busted out Friday. He and Spiderman's Toby Maguire were among the last of the standing celebrity poker players heading into this weekend before bidding farewell to the 2007 WSOP (World Series of Poker).
Sully Erna, the self-proclaimed Wicken and vocalist for the hard rock band, Godsmack, also bused out on Friday.
In a testament to its growing international flavor, 74 of the final 337 who sat down to play Friday were from outside the United States, and a total of 27 nations were represented, according to SI.com.
Payouts to finishers who placed 621st and higher began Thursday, and those with small stacks who made it into Friday's round were struggling to double up or go home.
By the end of Day 4, only 118 players of the 6000 plus who entered this year's WSOP remained.
Among the more notable survivors, Humberto Brenes, the native Costa Rican pro who has won nearly $2 mil during his professional poker career. Brenes is also right up the street from the Gambling911.com base, currently residing in beautiful Miami Lakes, Florida.
Lee Watkinson, Huck Seed and Denmark's Gus Hansen continue to go strong. In fact, Hansen, who had dropped out of the top 10 chip leader pack on Friday, found himself inching back into the top 20 coming into Saturday on a positive trend.
But daggonnit! There's a guy named Dag Martin Mikkelsen (pictured right), whose won absolutely nothing in past professional poker play sitting atop the chips leader board representing his home country of Norway.
In fact, the top 10 chip leaders heading into Saturday's play have won a combined lifetime total of $24,581 in professional poker tournaments, all of which is divided among three of the ten men: Richard Harris, Hevad "Rain" Khan, and Jeff Tunkel with his meager $729 in winnings.
