In yet another amazing eye opening campaign strategy, Internet phenom US Republican Presidential candidate, Ron Paul, will be sponsoring the upcoming January 19 Roy Jones Jr. fight. Roy Jones Jr. opponent will be the amazing Felix Trinidad. Actually, his supporters will be sponsoring the event, much the same way they have previously paid to fly a massive Ron Paul blimp up and down the East Coast. This fight could potentially become a blockbuster in terms of traffic generated to the Gambling911.com website, claims Senior Editor, Payton O'Brien. "We are already getting substantial inquiries related to Roy Jones, Jr. well in advance of the fight, which is highly unusual for a boxing match," she disclosed. The "Ron Paul" factor will make this an even bigger event. With the Nevada caucuses taking place the very same day as the fight, Paul's supporters hope to generate plenty of buzz around Nevada, where support for the maverick candidate is growing rapidly. Paul is listed with +1200 odds to win Nevada (see BetUS.com odds here) According to the sponsoring website: "We are raising funds for an ad on the back of Roy Jones Jr for his big fight against Trinidad. Like Ron Paul, Roy Jones Jr. has been very outspoken against the war in Iraq. This fight will be huge, seats are currently going for $25K. Any help that you can give is much appreciated. If you still have questions I can be reached by PM, or Phone 863-837-1032." A word of caution, however. Gambling911.com cannot verify the group behind this fundraising effort. It is advised the readers check out trusted Ron Paul related news groups for confirmation that this event is taking place. Our own Jennifer Reynolds will be digging deeper as well. Trinidad is coming out of retirement for a second time and off a devastating loss to Winky Wright in May 2005. Jones, who is 2-3 in his past five bouts, was the best fighter of his generation, but that was in the 1990s.
