Ron Paul has been gaining plenty of momentum this weekend following a Republican debate in Iowa where he stood his ground as to why American forces should get out of Iraq.
More than 70% of the American people want us out of there, Paul stated during the debate.
Nine Republican presidential contenders sought to reach out Sunday to a dissatisfied GOP electorate in the nation's first caucus state, using a televised debate to try to strengthen ties to conservatives while attacking the Democratic field.
Texas Rep. Ron Paul was the lone voice for a rapid U.S. exit from Iraq.
"Just come home," Paul said when asked his Iraq strategy. "We just marched in. We can just come back."
For Paul, California Rep. Duncan Hunter, Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback, former Gov. Tommy Thompson, Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, the 90-minute debate on ABC's "This Week" was an important chance to match up against higher-profile contenders Romney, Rudolph Giuliani, the former New York mayor, and Arizona Sen. John McCain.
