Ron Paul Supporters Have Another Money Bomb Set Up

Ready, set, donate! Ron Paul's Supporters have Another Money Bomb set up.

It is highly doubtful that this Money Bomb will come anywhere near the $4.2 million dollars he received on Monday, November 5, but that doesn't slow down his supporters. The creator of the website that drew so many to donate to Ron Paul on Monday, over 38,000 donors, is at it again. This time the day is November 11 - Veterans Day. If you would like to take part, you can go to
www.thisnovember11th.com to register your intent to donate on that day, however, please go to the official site to make the actual donation.

As of this writing, they have over fourteen hundred people signed up to join in the fun. Just the fact that only a few short days after raising the most money ever online in a single day, another 1400 people are agreeing to donate again, is amazing. Could it be that these are all new donors? Earlier today, people at the Paul campaign stated that as of mid afternoon they had 17,000 new donors sign on to make donations. These are not pledges, Mr. Blitzer, these are actual, here is my credit card number donations. (Seemingly, because he could not believe the news on Monday, Wolf Blitzer intimated that the huge total that Dr. Paul raised may not be real donations, but only promises of donations. Sorry to disappoint. That was cold hard cash (well, cold hard credit card payments) Ron Paul raised on Monday.)

This new November 11 website dedicated to Veteran's day states: We the People of the United States of America will never forget your sacrifices; will never forget your courage. To all of you who have served our great nation, thank you. Soon, we will elect our leader. Of all our candidates, Ronald Ernest Paul has received [the] most support and donations from the armed forces. (This is the first time I ever heard his middle name. Quite fitting don't you think?)

The website is quite lovely and tastefully done. It reminds all donors to ONLY donate to the official website www.RonPaul2008.com, and if that is not possible to do so by mail or by phone. You can make donations at 1-877-Ron-Paul as well. But please, no where else. Many sites are springing up hoping to make a few dollars off of Ron Paul's success. Those are the only two place to make donations.

Of course, there is no reason to have to wait for a specific day to donate to the campaign. All donations are accepted gratefully no matter when they are made.

Hint: there may be a new big day planned for donations in about a month from now celebrating the Boston Tea Party. As someone stated recently, "we are not fighting a new revolution, we are fighting the old one."

All of this comes on the heels of allegations that AT&T as well as other Internet and telephone providers gave feds access to all Web, and phone traffic without a court order. If you ever thought that Ron Paul was a little bit paranoid about protecting our civil liberties, you better think again. Sometime in 2002, the National Security Agency (NSA) walked into an AT&T office in San Francisco. A former employee has come forward to tell the tale about documents he found that showed the NSA gained access to massive amounts of e-mail, Web search and other Internet records of more than a dozen global and regional telecom providers. An At&T spokeswoman said she had no comment on the allegations as she claimed that "AT&T is fully committed to protecting our customer's privacy." But then added "We do not comment on matter of national security." And what if the two goals conflict?

As Ron Paul has stated before, it is time that we regain our civil liberties and our right to privacy. This country was not designed to have a secretive government spying on all of its citizens all of the time. Perhaps we are finally, as a nation, returning to the idea that we would rather have our essential liberty and safety and not have to choose between them. It is a lot harder to get the essential liberty back. (The original quote is from Benjamin Franklin who said "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.")

Who else do you trust to work for your liberty in this race? Who else do you trust to protect you with a foreign policy that does not equate to poking a beehive with a stick? Who else will bring our troops home? Isn't it time we get OUR America back? Ron Paul - he just makes sense.

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to
regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and
shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned
- this is the sum of good government. "
Thomas Jefferson
