The Truth About Ron Paul (That the Media Does Not Want You to Know)
After watching the September 9, 2007 GOP debate I had to ask myself the question: what is the point of watching mainstream news at all? I cannot answer that question.
Watching mainstream news is worse than watching paint dry, it is a great way to be manipulated, lied to, and a great way to get your head messed up. There is no such thing as truth in news anymore. There is no integrity. There is no shame at lying over and over. The media is no longer separate from the government, it its puppet. Do you know that almost half of the news articles written and published by major daily newspapers in the U.S. contain one or more factual errors? So, why let those unprincipled cretins attempt to control you? We have gotten to the point where watching the news is more damaging than not learning anything at all.
It seems that the once revered fourth estate is now simply a tool. No more can you rely on newspapers or news stations for integrity. Gone are the days of trusting newscasters. But watching this election cycle I am seeing something much worse than sloppy reporting, and lazy fact checking. I am seeing outright lies told over and over to manipulate people. And that my friends is dangerous. Very dangerous. It is one thing when a politician lies to you, but the news? That is where we get our information. Thank God for the Internet, without it we would have no idea how many lies we are being told each and every day and we would have no where to go to get unbiased information.

Ron Paul continued to sit with 8 to 1 odds of becoming the next US President. Those were the same
odds given to Republican Mitt Romney at Sportsbook.com A $100 bet pays out $800. What better way to support Ron Paul than to bet on his presidency and walk off with 8 times your initial donation?
I stopped watching mainstream news several years ago when I was watching a report on the progress of the Iraq war. It was about the time someone had declared "Mission Accomplished." The White House, in an attempt to manipulate the public into thinking we were making progress had the unmitigated gall to declare that come a certain date the U.S. Government was going to hand over "limited sovereignty" to the Iraqi people. Those two words are worse than doublespeak, they are nonsense speak. The definition of sovereignty is to have total control over one's own country. You cannot have limited total control. It is not even an oxymoron, it simply means nothing at all. It is a grouping of words used for the express purpose of getting people to think that the U.S. Government was letting go of control and the war would end soon. However, since the two words together are nonsense, they could never be accused of lying.
Ok, so it is one thing for the White House to try to trick its citizens, we are used to it, they do it all the time. (That in itself is a pretty sad commentary.) What astounded me however, was how every single news station repeated those words (limited sovereignty) to their viewers as if they were giving them information. Perhaps this is just a fantasy, but I have this idea that once upon a time a newscaster would have exclaimed in indignation "How stupid does the White House think we are? Limited sovereignty! Nice try! Why not try and tell us that the first lady is a little bit pregnant while you are at it?" Instead, the lemmings just followed their leader and reported what they were told to report. Truth be damned.
I totally gave up mainstream news at that point and have been much richer for it. I get my news from independent Internet sources that I can verify with a little research and I am no longer subject to the lies and all the manipulation. Don't get me wrong, I know better than to trust that I can not be manipulated. Of course I can, I am human. So, to avoid being tricked and fooled I stay away from mainstream news. Lately however, I have been following the election of Ron Paul and I have been subjecting myself once again to mainstream news. This time however, it is different. It is as if blinders were removed long ago and I see the trickery with such clarity it amazes me that they 1. attempt to get away with such treachery and 2. that they do get away with their evil.
I could fill this article with thousands upon thousands of examples of outright lies told nightly to the American people. I will give you one example from the September 9, 2007 GOP debate. After the debate Fox news had text poll as to who won the debate, you were only allowed to vote once and could only vote from a cell phone. Hannity and Colmes both made it a point to claim that Ron Paul could only be winning the debate with the "3% of the population [that supports him] that are dialing over and over and over." Besides their inability to understand that cell phones do not come with dials, (the poll was done via text messaging), they were either unbelievably stupid, or lying through their teeth. Ron Paul won the debate with 33% of the vote, over twice as much as his next nearest contender. Fox News instead told their viewers that number was rigged and just hours after the debate, this information was nowhere to be found on the Fox website. In calling the station the next day and complaining about the false information and asking for a retraction, a viewer was laughed at and told that since the poll was not "scientific" they had no requirement to retract the false statements made by Hannity and Colmes.
For a well researched report of how many newspapers are censoring Dr. Paul, you can view this article. This would be merely sad if this blatant bias didn't have such bad consequences for the entire country. As a result of the libelous reporting, misreporting, and non-reporting of Dr. Ron Paul's positions, the people of this country are being ripped off. The citizenry has the first chance in my lifetime to have a President who works for the people, keeps the people's interests in mind, wants to protect the people, and will save the people from institutionalized thieves who force them to work nearly 5 months a year to pay them off in the form of taxation. Ron Paul offers true hope for real change. He offers insulation from the thugs that are out to take our money. Ron Paul offers you protection from a government that wants to steal the Internet from you. He offers protection from a government that wants to steal your life in the form of a draft. Ron Paul can protect you from inflation by once again backing our money with something of real value. Meanwhile, the thieves and the thugs who have learned how to use the Congress to steal from the citizens are keeping Ron Paul and his true policies from you. They are attempting to ridicule him without understanding any of his positions, they ignore him, and then they outright lie about him. Worse yet, they keep news away from you that he is doing great in all the straw polls across the country and could easily be considered the front runner.
You are being given an amazing opportunity this election and "they" are trying to steal it from you with lies, misdeeds, and silence. Ron Paul is perhaps the greatest gift Americans could ever hope to get. So I say to you: Stop watching mainstream news completely. Cut yourself off from the tide of lies. Clear your head. Learn about Ron Paul. You can go to www.LewRockwell.com and look for the Ron Paul file in the lower left corner. You can also search the www.RonPaulLibrary.org for articles and speeches of the greatest statesman and protectorate of the lower and middle classes. Seek out your information from www.FFF.org and get their daily email of articles that contain the most truth. Look for websites that contain interesting articles like www.Gambling911, where they always try to report on both sides of an issue. Heck, even the Daily Show gives you a more honest view of the world than the nightly news. Try this for thirty days and then watch network news for just one night. I bet you never go back. Sometimes it takes a little perspective to see just how much truth twisting is occurring. Doesn't it bother anyone that immediately following the debates they retire to the "spin" room to discuss the debate further. Spin is just another word for a way to twist the truth so that it is no longer true. Stay away from people who lie to you and are proud of it. You don't need it in your life and you will be wiser without it.
