Poker Tournament Raid in Bahamas... But The Event Must Go On

The highly anticipated CAP Spring Break 2nd Affiliate World Series of Poker hit a road block this weekend following a Saturday afternoon raid by Bahamian gaming authorities.  Sponsor BetUS.com and the CAP organizers were forced to think fast on Sunday after the proper paperwork failed to come through for a continuation of the tournament at Paradise Island's Atlantis Resort.

"It was all just one bureaucratic nightmare," expressed our Senior Editor, Payton O'Brien, reporting from CAP Spring Break in the Bahamas.

But in the end, Ms. O'Brien was happy to reveal that the tournament was able to go on, and in more idealic settings.

"We were taken on a 45 minute ride to a mansion hidden behind a huge brick wall with a breathtaking view of the ocean.  It was amazing."

Saturday was a little worrisome however.  While nobody got into trouble, the Bahaman Gaming Authority advised that the poker tournament could not be continued on Sunday without the proper paperwork.

The Affiliate World Series of Poker featured Gambling911.com's own Sparky Collins vying for a shot to have his/her site become the reigning poker world champion but Sparky was knocked out early.

Our friends at Point-Spreads.com had four of its writers represented in the big tournament that would earn the winner recognition for his/her respective website, an all-expense paid trip to Barcelona for the next Affiliate World Series of Poker and a $10,000 prize.

A winner was declared by day's end and Gambling911.com was there to photograph the entire event, along with the six finalists who will be revealed on Monday.

BetUS.com, now ranked among the best affiliate programs sponsored the Affiliate World Series of Poker.  Their presence at this year's event was very well received.

Sparky, Payton and the rest of the Gambling911.com gang were looking forward to covering the CAP event in Barcelona this fall with more news to be announced shortly.

Watch for photos from the Gambling911.com/BetOnline.com sponsored Pillow Fight, The ChipLeader.com party, Poolside Frolic with Sparky Collins, and much much more.....Including the first public appearance by Sparky, who was a big hit at CAP Spring Break....not to mention ATLANTIS.
