Winning Low Limit Poker: Finding the right table online

Winning Low Limit Poker is an easy way to slide into playing for real from playing for free at websites such as

It is important to understand that when we talk low limit poker we are referring to $0.5-$1 and $1-$2 tables.

1. Pick a table and try to stick with a full table.  It's more difficult to play winning Low Limit Poker at a short-handed table.

2. Finding the right player to go against online.  This is tough as you're limited when it comes to feeling out that player in the virtual world.  My God, you could end up against a true pro like Gambling911.com's Jenny Woo and not even know it.  Needless-to-say, this will take some getting used to.  Eventually you'll start meeting the same players online and getting a feel for their individual personalities.

What you need to find in winning low limit poker is the The flop percentage on any respective poker website.  It is the most important figure in determining the quality of players at the table and shows how many players are paying to see the flop. You will know how loose a game is. On a ten-seat table 25% would be very tight and 40% pretty loose.

With pot size averages you will know that more players are contributing and this also provides a good indication as to how loose the game is.

Pitfall Hands - Limit Hold'em

Now that we have discussed winning low limit poker table selection strategies let's review Pitfall Hands for Limit Hold'em.

Some hands play very easily in a hold'em game pre-flop. When you get pocket aces, you raise and when you're dealt 7-2 offsuit, you fold. Even pocket fours in a multi-way pot are easy to fold when they don't hit on the flop and there is action in front of you. With weak hands and strong hands, the decisions are simple. But it is the correct decisions on marginal hands that will make you a winner in the long run. There are a number of hands pre-flop that can get you into quite a bit of trouble if you call in the wrong situation. Hands like A-10 offsuit or K-10 suited, even A-K offsuit, by no means a weak or marginal hand, can get you into trouble post-flop. The key is to recognize these trouble situations before they start. This will require you to draw together a lot of information pre-flop to help you make a tough decision. The main thing you need to focus on in this situation is your opponents: their position, style of play, the game texture and any pre-flop raises in front of you.

Let's look at A-10 suited as an example. You are in late position and a tight player in front of you raises pre-flop, getting one caller before your turn to act. You should fold here. Your hand is most likely beat or dominated. If the player who raised was ignorant or a maniac the story might be different, but unless you are bailed out by a flush you will most likely make the second best hand here. And in poker "second place is the first loser" rings very true because the second place hand will lose the most money.

Stud poker tip

Who knows more about studs than your favorite poker player/writer/babe/attention deficit tick hottie Jenny Woo?  So yeah I consider my expert on providing the perfect stud poker tip.

Next to Texas Holdem Poker, stud Poker is one of the most popular variations for home, casino and online Poker games. You can find stud Poker tips in many places (and no boys, not my bedroom....well, maybe not), from gambling web sites to asking friends to watching the pros at the World Series of Poker. Stud Poker is a fun and challenging game, and often pays out more to winners than Texas Hold 'Em. The rules for stud Poker are fairly straightforward.

Poker odds calculator: Software enhances your poker skills

Jenny is always asked: "How did you learn how to play poker online so well?"  My response:  "I didn't.  That's why I suck!"  But for those of you who want to learn and enhance your skills, might I advise poker odds calculators.  These are great for No Limit Texas Holdem and other Texas Holdem variations.

And not just any 'ol poker odds calculators, how's about poker odds calculators that are right on your home computer as part of an innovative software package.

The multibillion dollar Internet Poker market is saturated with hundreds of sites serving millions of American poker aficionados, as I found out this past week during the 2006 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. I'm still aching by the way, and not just my feet hehehehe.

Three card poker strategy

There's a growing interest in three card Poker, mainly because people think it's easy to win big (given the right three card Poker strategy, of course).

After all, it's fun to think in 3's because....well....adding a third is more exciting than just two, especially when playing No Limit Texas Holdem

There are two ways to bring home the bucks (actually there are more than two ways, but we won't get into all of that on this page): getting a better hand than the dealer (the ante) and an optional bet, getting a pair or higher (the pair plus). It is simple and short, making a three card Poker strategy far less complicated than other variations and ideal for beginners or people who are looking for a quickie.

Omaha Poker - How to play Omaha Poker

When Jenny thinks of Omaha, two things come to mind: Steaks and "Thank God for Miami".  Now that I'm a poker girl, there is Omaha Poker and your girl Jenny is going to attempt to show you how to play Omaha Poker.

Is this where I segway into my High School story about "cow tipping" in Pensacola?

Ok edit here.

When last I left you, we discussed: Online poker cheating and No Limit Texas Holdem.  Sorry if I'm all over the map here.  Speaking of maps....

Here is a brief history lesson as my editor always encourages Jenny to offer cultural teachings in my writings.  Omaha is the largest city in Iowa with a population of close to 400,000.  The Pawnee and Otoe tribes had inhabited the region for hundreds of years by the time the Omaha tribe had arrived from the south in the early 1700s.  The Omaha speak a Siouan language.  Hence, we got Sioux City, Iowa.

Omaha Poker strategy

Jenny in doing her research on Omaha Poker Strategy, stumbled upon this useful site.  Translation:  I don't know squat about Omaha Poker Strategy so I will stoop to pulling up information from another worthy website and provide you with all the Omaha Poker strategy from PlayingWinningPoker.com.

Well, actually, I'd encourage you to visit them.

You know what though, my ADT is getting out of control and I recently made some new MySpace friends, the boys from WickedChopsPoker.com and come to find out that 1/3 of the three entities that put this site together are 1/2 Italian.  I guess that makes them "half breeds"?

Online Poker Cheating

Online poker cheating unfortunately is quite common and our Jenny Woo is here to explain how to spot a cheater

People often ask me: "Jenny, how do you do it?  Beauty, brains, talent and you're an accomplished poker player?"

Whoa there horsy, I've only started playing poker - What is it?  The past month?  Beauty, brains, talent....it's a cake walk.

But honestly, there is some cheating involved.  If not for a wonderful editor, some of my articles might never get beyond the cutting room floor.  If not for my wonderful plastic surgeon, these here breasts of mine might actually be real as opposed to real expensive.  And as for the brains part, that might be the hardest of them all hehehe especially with my ADT acting up all the time.  A lot of my "smarts" is derived from cheating.

So yes, I can be a cheater.  And guess what Boys, Cheating can be applied to online poker.

No Limit Texas Holdem

No-Limit Texas Holdem is a game of general strategy, basic tactical skills useful in all forms of poker, and a game of intense psychology.  In other words, Jenny's ADT needs to go straight out the window!  It's a game where you must pay careful attention and you must know the type of players, similar to a boy meets girl scenario....know the cads, know whose got the dough, know what's behind them there wranglers hehehe!

As I prepare to hit the poker circuit, this diva has been secretly honing her No Limit Texas Holdem skills.  But before I get into basic strategy, first we need to distinguish between the types of players you will encounter when playing No Limit Texas Holdem, keeping in mind that this girl has very few limits so I might be at a slight advantage here.  Some - like the tight passives - prefer more of a, well, missionary approach....as I will attempt to explain below.

So just who are my opponents?   Hopefully a few gorgeous hunks, some sexy ****** and a porn star poker pro like David Williams.  More than likely, I'll be playing along side Wilbur and Jane The Librarian.
