Poker: MansionPoker.net Poker Dome major presence in Las Vegas

It was truly amazing to walking through Downtown Las Vegas and come across a huge sign for Mansion Poker.net Poker Dome.  But this wasn't just any old advertisement.  This was a marquee sign and it soon became abundantly clear that an entire building belonged to the folks at

The Mansion Poker.net Poker Dome is the next best thing in Downtown Las Vegas and it is supposed to help revitalize the downtown region.  A new outdoor mall (open air mall concepts probably aren't the smartest thing in Las Vegas heat) has been deemed a complete failure.  Mansion has helped bring life to the mall (as one of its anchors).  But it is today's poker craze and the World Series of Poker that will help bring the Poker Dome itself to life.

The Dome is the world's first interactive poker studio and the centerpiece of Fox Sports Net (FSN) popular new poker series, "MansionPoker.net Poker Dome Challenge", in which online qualifiers of have a shot at the $1,000,000 prize.

Anyone who has the slightest interest in poker needs to make this a "must see" when in Vegas.  The huge, 80-foot by 40-foot Dome is constructed largely of soundproof, one-way glass, giving the more than 150 audience members an unprecedented look at televised poker while protecting the integrity of the game, ensuring the players inside the Dome can't see out.  It is the only venue in the world where the audience can watch live poker around the table and see the hole cards.

Housing 26 cameras, more than are used in any other weekly televised sports series, the Dome's technology is unmatched.  The specially constructed poker table inside the structure utilizes card and chip tracker technology and has LCD and time lights embedded in the table for Speed Poker, the fast-paced game played inside the Dome.

But our favorite part: Each of the players wears a heart monitor with the heart rate displayed for the audience the entire length of the show's taping.  This creates an absolutely amazing interactive environment for audience members.

The graphics and production value are unsurpassed.  Gambling911.com cannot overemphasize how great an experience this was even for those who have never even watched a poker game.

The shows tape Saturday night at 8:00 pm PST and air Sundays at 11 pm local time.

The MansionPoker.net Poker Dome is located at the intersection of Las Vegas Blvd. and the historic Fremont Street.
