People Magazine
spotlights Calvin Ayre among its hottest bachelors
He's
only 43: Young, handsome, charming
and....well.....mighty rich. His name is
Calvin Ayre. You've probably read about him
once or twice here at Gambling911.com.
And now he's been selected among People Magazine's
most "hottest bachelors". Soon we will see his
name on the blimp....or his head will become the
blimp with all this additional notoriety to pump up
his ego.
Calvin Ayre, Bodog.com’s Founder & CEO, continues to
go from the face of online gambling to the face of
the world’s ultra-rich. Mr. Ayre is named one of the
world’s “Hottest Bachelors” in People Magazine, out
this Friday June 16, 2006.
A milestone: Ayre
is the first person to be on the cover of Forbes’
“Billionaires” issue and in People’s “Hottest
Bachelor” issue in the same year.
Ayre was named to People’s “Money Doesn’t Make the
Man…but it sure doesn’t hurt” category along with
investor Ron Burkle and PayPal founder David O.
Sacks. In total, 41 of the world’s Hottest Bachelors
appear in the issue.
“This coverage in People is good for Bodog.com and
good for our industry. Being seen in the media this
way sets a strong example of the mainstreaming of
online gaming, and serves as another tool to educate
and inform players about our company,” Mr. Ayre says
of the article in People. “Of course, it’s extremely
complimentary to appear along with my fellow
bachelors Taylor Hicks and Matthew McConaughey.”
Mr. Ayre, a resident of Costa Rica, spent a day at
the Bodog Compound, his luxurious residence, with a
reporter and photographer from People. The article
marks the first time an online gaming CEO has been
featured in People’s bachelor issue.
In his interview, the billionaire philanthropist and
industry leader talks about his dating style,
noting: “My most expensive habit is serial dating. I
can fly a woman to Hawaii for a weekend…”
Of particular interest to People, is Ayre’s
generosity. The magazine states, “After a woman he
was dating told him her sister had medical problems
and the family couldn’t afford the bills, he paid
them.”
Mr. Ayre is currently in the Dominican Republic
finishing up filming for his upcoming Great Casino
Cities of the World television show for the Fine
Living Network, which is scheduled to air later this
year.
