Pennsylvania Primary Elections Betting: Clinton The Runaway Favorite

Bet $16, win $1.  That doesn't exactly seem like the sweetest wager, but it may very well be considering Hillary Clinton is a virtual "lock" to win the Pennsylvania Primary on Tuesday.

Paddy Power was one of the few betting firms still offering wagering on the much ballyhooed Pennsylvania Primary.

All polls had Clinton winning the important state.

Even Obama appears to suggest that he won't win Tuesday's contest.

"I'm not predicting a win," he told a Pittsburgh radio station. "I'm predicting it's going to be close and that we are going to do a lot better than people expect."

"(Obama) has an air of invincibility, that he is likely to be the nominee," John Fortier of the American Enterprise Institute told CTV Newsnet Monday night.

"Even if Hillary wins by a significant margin in Pennsylvania, she will have to win by big margins in the few remaining states and it doesn't look that good for her."

While on the surface, a $16 bet to win $1 might at first seem a "dumb" idea, it may be one of the wisest.  Should Hillary Clinton win Pennsylvania, the initial $16 bet is returned along with the $1 profit.  bet $100 and you can walk off with an easy $5 - enough to buy a Happy Meal at McDonalds.
