Paul Jewell "Sex Tape" Crisis Shocks Great Britain

Internet search on Easter Sunday was comprised mostly of "chocolate bunny rabbits", "Jesus Christ Resurrection", "Peeps" and "Paul Jewell Sex Tape".  Huh?

The unholy news was first revealed by the News  of the World Sunday morning and sent shock waves throughout the rest of the world, much of which was observing Easter Sunday.  Alas, much of those shocked and inquiring were perhaps looking for the reported sex tape.

The News of the World has revealed how Jewell:

STRAPS his champagne-swigging lover to a bed using silk ties.

BRINGS on a SEX TOY as a substitute when he runs out of steam.

SLAPS her bottom and face and pulls her hair as the blonde, wearing only black suspenders, stockings and studded black boots, writhes in passion.

KEEPS his T-shirt on to hide his overweight midfield as he goes for goal in a variety of formations.

And now the soccer boss was in crisis talks with his wife last night to try to save their marriage.

Jewell, 43, was thought to have returned to his family’s £1.5million West Yorks mansion from his Derby flat to try to explain himself to wife Ann-Marie, 45, according to NOTW sister paper, The Sun.

A pal said: “He’ll be a laughing stock at the club when he gets back.

“Everyone is pointing out he seems to have scored more regularly in that video than Derby have all season.”

The Sun also reports that the film is thought to have been made when he was Wigan manager. He is said to have quit the Premiership club to “save his marriage”.

Last night heartbroken Ann-Marie refused to comment on the video at the family’s Ilkley home.

But Derby, who are doomed to Premiership relegation, said it would have no impact on £1.5million-a-year Jewell’s future.

Jewell was previously a player with clubs the likes of Liverpool, Wigan and Bradford City.

He was appointed manager in 1998 and took City to the Premier League before resigning and becoming manager of Sheffield Wednesday. He returned to Wigan to win a second promotion to the Premier League but resigned a day after he kept them up in 2006–07 before joining Derby County on 28 November 2007.

Controversies surrounding Paul Jewell are not uncommon.

On 11 February 2007 during the aftermath of Wigan's defeat at the hands of Arsenal, he threw blame at referee Phil Dowd after the referee failed to award Wigan a penalty when Emile Heskey was felled by Arsenal's Mathieu Flamini and was also upset at Arsenal's winning goal, which looked offside. Jewell stated Mr. Dowd could cost the club £50 Million. (Which would be the loss in earnings if Wigan Athletic were to be relegated from the Premiership.)

There was further controversy when Jewell was handed an improper conduct charge for verbally insulting Phil Dowd after the Arsenal game. Jewell's reply was to contest the decision made by the Football Association claiming referee Phil Dowd verbally insulted his players on the pitch which went unpunished. Jewell claimed the FA were guilty of 'Double Standards' in charging himself but not Phil Dowd for seemingly the same offence.

Even more allegations were brought up by Jewell during the 2006/7 season against Phil Dowd in which he claimed at least one unnamed Premiership club had asked for referee Phil Dowd not to be put in charge of their game, and also claimed he received support from many of his peers and other referees.

Jewell was initially fined £2,000 and given a two match touchline ban (suspended for 12 months) and has recently denied a second Football Association charge of improper conduct and bringing the game into disrepute after comments he made about referee Phil Dowd which was heard on the 16 May 2007.

With Jewell, there have been cries of hypocrisy as well, similar to that of disgraced New York State hooker loving Eliot Spitzer, though the former never crusaded against adulterers, throwing them behind bars.

LOVE rat Paul Jewell has bragged about his prowess..as a marriage guidance counsellor, NOTW reports.

He claims modern managers are forced to help players with all kinds of problems - even marital ones!

In an interview Jewell said: "To be a manager these days you have to be the players' friend, the players' enemy, a marriage guidance counsellor, a psychologist.

"You have to be all these things to all men.

"One time I was managing a club and one player came in and told me he had gone home and found his wife in bed with his best mate.

"None of these coaching courses taught me how to deal with that."

But Jewell won't have to worry if any players walk through his door and ask him how to set up a camcorder to record some dirty tackles, that paper slyly suggests.
