Online Poker Room That Accepts The Euro

Looking for an online poker room that takes the Euro?  Look no further than ChiliPoker .  ChiliPoker not only accepts the Euro but a whole host of other currencies from around the world.

Finding an online poker room that takes the Euro is especially significant these days as rankings now show ChiliPoker's network (iPoker) sitting in second place among the most popular Internet poker rooms in the world. iPoker does not accept US poker players, nor does Chili Poker for that matter.

Europe has become a hotbed for online poker activity over the past year.

2008 will mark the second year for the World Series of Poker Europe.   The inaugural WSOPE, held in 2007, marked the first time that a WSOP bracelet was awarded outside of Las Vegas. The World Series of Poker Europe has a unique identity from the Las Vegas WSOP, but according to Harrah's will remain true to the traditions and heritage.

Annette Obrestad may very well be the "Chris Moneymaker of the European Poker Scene".  Moneymaker was the obscure poker player who came out of nowhere to win it big at the 2003 World Series of Poker.  His victory is generally credited for being one of the main catalysts for the poker boom in the years following his win. Moneymaker was working as an accountant when he won a seat into the main event of the 2003 WSOP through a US$39 satellite tournament at the PokerStars online poker card room.

In many ways, Obrestad's win at the first every WSOPE, could be considered a more storied occurrence as she became the youngest poker player to ever win a World Series of Poker bracelet.  She did so before her 20th birthday.

The Norwegian started her poker career online when she was only fifteen years old using the online screen-name "Annette_15". She claims she never had to deposit money on any online poker site. Instead she made her initial online bankroll by winning freeroll poker tournaments from which she went on to amass several hundred thousand dollars in winnings. Between September 2006 and February 2007, she won over $500,000 on Pokerstars, $200,000 on UltimateBet, and $136,000 on Full Tilt Poker. As of February 2008, Pocketfives.com, a site that tracks online poker, ranks her number 51. She also has been the site's top-ranked player in the past.

As for the Euro, it is indeed remarkable to point out that even some North American facing online gambling sites have begun paying those customers based in the US and Canada in Euros.

It should be noted that ChiliPoker, which is offering tons of tournament qualifications and all new depositors a 100% Cash Bonus up to $600, does not accept customers from the United States.
