Online Poker Site Absolute Continues to Thrive

Online poker website Absolute Poker continues to thrive despite nearly paralyzing negative publicity last month surrounding an "insider's cheating scandal".  Online poker's third largest US-focused poker firm responded slowly at first to the allegations before taking on more of an aggressive role.  They would later blame an on-sight consultant who had previously been employed by Nine.com.

While an independent audit is still being carried out by the regulatory body in charge of overseeing Absolute Poker, the room continues to thrive.

"The site is still outperforming Svenska Spel (The Swedish online poker giant), Bodog and Microgaming's powerful network," comments Payton O'Brien.  "They are the 9th most popular poker room, which means their position hasn't changed much since pre-controversy."

Its sister online poker room, UltimateBet.com, was listed as the 7th most popular online poker room this month.

Gambling911.com has since reinstated Absolute Poker among its advertised poker rooms.

"They reimbursed everyone who could have even been remotely affected by the online poker tournament scandal that was isolated to a specific one month period," says O'Brien.

"We are truly thrilled to have them back on board," commented Gambling911.com reporter, Jenny Woo, who had been investigating the reports.  "They have always acted in a professional manner in dealing with us."

Meanwhile, BetFair continues to make inroads, cracking the top 15 and displaying numbers better than Cake Poker in terms of overall cash players.

PokerStars has nearly triple the number of players as FullTilt Poker.

Absolute Poker, UltimateBet  and Europe's largest online betting exchange, BetFair.com all have their online poker rooms endorsed by the Gambling911.com website.
