Gambling Companies Realize the Potential of New York
Yankees
Left for dead only a few weeks ago, the New York
Yankees have since been able to rebound. At
press time, the Yankees held onto a .500 record, had
the second best record in the American League East
and were a mere 10 1/2 games behind the Boston Red
Sox.
Okay, so they have
a lot of catching up to do. But this is -
after all - the New York Yankees. And if any
team can pull this off, it would be The Yankees.
The leading online
bookmakers like
Bookmaker.com and

Gambling
have embraced the Yankees to win the 2007 AL East
through thick and thin. Only four teams have a
better shot of winning this division and the Yankees
are right in there with the pack.
"The Boston Red Sox
had been a big favorite to win the AL East,"
explains Sports911.com's Tyrone Black. "At
press time they were reduced to +300 odds. The
Angels, Indians and Tigers make up the cushion
between Boston and the Yankees, who were listed with
odds of +500."
For Yankees fans
that means a payout potential of $500 for every $100
bet if the team happens to make an unprecedented
comeback.
"Online gambling
aficionados would need to bet on the Yankees now in
order to lock these odds in, otherwise you can bet
that oddsmakers will continue to slash the Yankees
price," Black points out.
The Yankees could
see themselves as favorites to win the American
League East in no time.
Barry Bonds' 749th
home run wasn't nearly enough to overcome another
big night from Alex Rodriguez Saturday night.
Rodriguez went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and the New
York Yankees beat the Giants 7-3 Friday night in
their first meaningful game in San Francisco since
winning Game 7 of the 1962 World Series.
Bonds got the longball, but A-Rod got the win in the
matchup between two of baseball's most feared
sluggers.
"I'd take two more (Bonds homers) and two more
wins," Rodriguez said. "I'll trade that. I'm a huge
Barry fan. I love to see great talent be displayed.
It's a beautiful thing to watch. As long as we win
the game, he can do whatever he wants."
