thick of the Heisman race, the USC Trojans were
Super Book's overwhelming
early favorite (5-2) to win
this year’s BCS National Championship heading into
2007. Last season
the Trojans defense gave up a stingy 15.2 points per
game.
With the season closing, we had many surprises. Ohio State was the favorite to win the BCS Championship. Shockingly, Boston College was ranked second at one point. Kansas was well ranked after opening as a "field" option with odds of 100-1.
And what about USC? Entering Week 10 of the 2007/2008 College Football season we had them listed with long 100 to 1 odds of winning the BCS Championship game. USC was still a possibility to get into the title game by the first week of December, albeit a slim possibility.
LSU opened as a -5 1/2 favorite against Ohio State on December 2, 2007.
