Odds to Win the 2007 NBA Championship

AddThis Social Bookmark Button With the 16 NBA playoff teams set, SuperBook has finalized its odds to win the 2007 NBA Championship. Not surprisingly, the Dallas Mavericks are far and away the favorites to shake Commissioner Stern’s hand come late June.

This is Carrie Stroup reporting for Sports911.com with all your odds to win the 2007 NBA championship.

The defending Western Conference Champions absolutely rolled through the regular season en route to an impressive 67-15 record. The Mavericks have cooled a bit as of late, having lost four out of their last ten games but with the top seed locked up, they didn’t have much to play for.

Right behind the Mavericks to win it all are the Phoenix Suns (once again not a surprise). Behind a high powered offense that averages 110.2 PPG, Phoenix owned the NBA’s second best record at 61-21.

The Eastern Conference favorite to cut down the nets is the Detroit Pistons behind their stifling defense that yields only 91.8 PPG. It is interesting to note that with the return of Dwayne Wade to the lineup, the Miami Heat have the second least generous odds to win the 2007 NBA Championship of all of the Eastern Conference teams despite being the four seed.

To celebrate the start of the NBA playoffs, SuperBook.com will be offering a FREE bet for the opening weekend. This week’s free bet: Allen Iverson- Total Assists this weekend versus the San Antonio Spurs, O/U 6 ½.  Learn More About Super Book Here

At first glance, it appears as if most of the bettors will pound the OVER in regards to the FREE bet. After all, Iverson averaged 7.2 assists per game this season and during his least productive month, he still averaged 6.5 APG. So why is this number only at 6 ½? Well after further analysis, A.I. has dished out 7 or more assists only twice in his last seven games. Additionally, San Antonio has the best defensive team in the NBA, giving up only 90.1 PPG. Naturally if a team is going against a top notch defensive team, their offensive statistics usually suffer. Case in point: in his previous two games versus San Antonio, Iverson recorded 6 and 5 assists. Maybe the UNDER 6 ½ isn’t a bad bet after all.
