Notre Dame Odds to Win 2008 BCS Championship

Notre Dame's odds to win the 2008 BCS Championship have been set at 60 to 1 (or a $60 payout for every $1 bet)  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish better have a lot of fight in them this College Football season as the online bookmakers don't have much faith.

SuperBook.com has Notre Dame winning under 7 1/2 games.  They set a line here of -140 on the Under and even odds on the over.

Athlon says: There’s no denying that a third straight trip to a BCS game looks unlikely without quarterback Brady Quinn, whose name is plastered throughout the Notre Dame record book after four years as the team's starter.

Also gone are Notre Dame’s top two all-time receivers — Jeff Samardzija and Rhema McKnight — as well as three offensive linemen and three defensive linemen.

The schedule begins with Georgia Tech, at Penn State, at Michigan, Michigan State, at Purdue, at UCLA, Boston College and USC. If the Irish can survive the first two-thirds of the season, they should finish strong in November with home games against Navy, Air Force and Duke, and a trip to Stanford.

If Notre Dame could ease into the season against a few patsies, it would help. But the Irish face a brutal schedule that doesn’t let up until November.

As a side note: The South Bend Tribune was reporting this past weekend that Notre Dame defensive end Derrell Hand was arrested for suspicion of soliciting a prostitute.  FOX 28 reported Friday Hand had been suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules.

It's you and your hand tonight Derrell.
