One final weekend of regular season play in the NFL gives us one last chance to clean up at the betting window. And let’s hope wise guys continue their heater after a profitable last week. There are a number of fascinating matchups with lines that will rise and fall as we get closer to game time. There is money to be won, though, on early bets and we’ll sniff some of those out with the help of our wise guys. We bounced back to win two of three bets on last week’s schedule and wouldn’t it be cool to close out the season with a sweep.

While the public was backing the over in a tilt between Houston and Tampa Bay, wise guys went the other way and it paid off. The Bucs are one of the top scoring teams in the NFL and the Texans aren’t too shabby either. But it was the defenses that stood out in this one, giving us a win in Houston’s 23-20 victory that fell below the opening total of 53. It was difficult to ask the Browns to perform in a meaningless game when they couldn’t do it in games that actually mattered. Backing the Ravens at the opening -7 was too good and it paid off when they hammered Cleveland, 31-15.

Maybe wise guys were drinking the Kool-Aid by throwing down on Dallas in last week’s critical NFC East contest with Philly. Beating the Rams the game before was the turning point for a run to the crown. Unfortunately it didn’t happen, and we were handed our only loss to be denied a perfect week.

All Week 17 games take place on Sunday so it’s going to be busy. Several games will impact division standings and playoff positioning making for an important final day. We’ll check the lines and spreads and see where the sharp action is going. And remember, BookMaker will have spreads and totals for every NFL matchup during the 2019 season. NFL Week 17 Wise Guy Picks

Tennessee Titans ( -3.5, 45 ) at Houston Texans

We tend to get strange lines and moves at the end of the year when certain teams are fighting for their playoff lives and others are either already out or already in the postseason. That’s the scenario for this game. The Texans have clinched the AFC South and are the No. 4 seed. The situation for the Titans is straightforward – win and you’re in. Tennessee can still qualify with a loss, but the road is much easier with a win.

And there’s the problem. The Titans will play their regulars to try and get a win and a playoff berth. The Texans can move up a spot to the No. 3 seed, but that still gets them a home game on Wild Card weekend. You have to wonder where the motivation is to play starters. Houston opened as a 1-point favorite but a majority of the public backed the visitors forcing the line to jump the fence in favor of the Titans by 3.5-points. Moving to a key number is a sign that sharps are backing the team that needs a win.

Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers ( -1, 48 )

Wise guys backed the under in a Bucs game last week and the move paid off. We’re seeing them dip their toes in the same waters and hopefully it gets us a winner on the NFL betting line. The total for this NFC South matchup hit the board at 50.5 and a majority of the public bought the over with two potent offensive teams going at it. The Bucs have the third-highest scoring team in the NFL while the Falcons average nearly 24 points.

Wise guy fingerprints are all over this one with the total going against the public and falling to 48. A resurgent Falcons defense has helped them win their last three games allowing an average of 18 points in that run, over seven points fewer than their season average. Though Jameis Winston has solid numbers, he’s been inconsistent and prone to turnovers, which will keep the score below the total.

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills ( -1.5, 36 )

Another game with teams heading in different directions at the end of the season has seen significant line movement. The Bills surfaced as a 5.5-point favorite and got a majority of the early action despite already having a playoff spot secured and with little to play for. That was enough for wise guys to back the visitors, dropping the line to Bills -1.5.

The Jets have struggled on the road this season going 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS. And they generally haven’t played very well. This is a good opportunity for the New Yorkers to finish the season on a good note after being a joke early on. They should take advantage of the chance presented them and wise guys are counting on it.
