Mitt Romney Presidential Odds Improve

AddThis Social Bookmark Button Republican US Presidential candidate Mitt Romney's chances seem to be improving while his value remains substantial.

This is Carrie Stroup reporting for Gambling911.com.  The oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com (see website here) continue to list Mitt Romney with odds of 10 to 1 of becoming the next US President in 2008.  That's a $1000 payout on a $100 bet should he actually win.

There is definitely a momentum shift going on here.

A new poll shows that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is the Republican front-runner in New Hampshire.

According to the Boston Globe, a Survey USA poll for WBZ-TV shows Romney with 32 percent support among likely Republican primary voters. Rudy Giuliani and John McCain received 23 percent and 22 percent, respectively. Actor Fred Thompson had 11 percent.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton has 40 percent, followed by Barack Obama's 24 percent and John Edwards' 22 percent.

The margin of error was +/- 4.3 percent for the Republican poll and +/- 4.1 percent for the Democrats.

....Elsewhere, Libertarian candidate Wayne Root has positioned himself as the "Presidential candidate of the gambling world."

"I was on BBC Sunday night addressing the British audience. I'll be on Fox News Channel later this week. I'm interviewing top political campaign managers in world- including one who has managed campaigns of three U.S Presidential candidates, President of Israel and Romania. Root tells Gambling911.com.

"This is serious. I'm the candidate who will make the issue of Internet freedom a major platform...and fight to end the 'Nanny State'."

Sportsbook.com (see website here) has posted odds on Wayne Roots chances at 1000 to 1.  That's a $10,000 payout for every $100 bet should he become the next US President in 2008.
