Ladbrokes Confirms Entry into US Market Was Set to Happen

Following its breaking away from the Hilton brand, Ladbrokes - England's largest online bookmaker - admits they were poised and ready to enter the US market just one month prior to the passage of the UIGEA last October.

The confirmation came during CAP Spring Break with Ladbrokes attending the Bahamas event.

Good news for sports bettors, bad news for other online gambling operators: Ladbrokes still has its eye on the US market place but won't make a move until current legislation is ratified.

A company representative suggested it is only a matter of time and that the company already has the resources in place to start catering to US gamblers as soon as legal barriers are lifted.

With the US government now leaning more towards regulation, a company the size of Ladbrokes would generate unlimited tax revenue in the States.
