Kimbo
Slice Fight verses Ray Mercer Kicks Off Big MMA
Weekend Card
Kimbo Slice vs Ray Mercer is not the only ticket in town this weekend.
For those of you that missed out on one of the all time classic UFC bouts, you have the chance to view the rematch for FREE this Saturday and this time you can bet on it at Super Book.
Way back in January of 2002, BJ Penn and Jens “Lil Evil” Pulver squared off in a 5 round battle that was all action for the full 25 minutes. At the time, Pulver was the 155 pound champion; however, the up and coming Penn was considered the favorite.
The well rounded Penn was coming off three extremely impressive victories against strong competition. Despite being already counted out by the experts, “Lil Evil”, behind his excellent stand up game, went toe to toe with Penn and won by a majority decision. Even five years later, the demand for a rematch was so high that Dana White and the UFC crew decided to make them the coaches of their wildly popular reality series “The Ultimate Fighter 5”.
For the few out there that haven’t hopped aboard the mixed martial arts bandwagon, this weekend is an outstanding opportunity to see what the rage is all about. Not only do you have the “The Ultimate Fighter 5” shown on Spike TV for free but there are also two huge pay per view events that have MMA fans salivating. Friday evening Strikeforce will host a mega-fight between two of the worlds most dominant middleweights square off as Frank Shamrock (+105) takes on Phil (Badass) Baroni (-135). On Saturday evening not only will MMA fans be able to watch “TUF 5” but they will have the opportunity to witness a fight that everyone in the fight world is talking about. Internet legend Kimbo Slice (-185) will take his raw but powerful fighting skills heads up against Olympic gold medalist and one time heavyweight champ Ray “Merciless” Mercer (+155).
“It’s amazing how the sport of MMA has taken off over the last year or so,” SuperBook General Manager Tony Delgado stated. “It used to be our customers could only bet on MMA a few times a year. Now thanks to the growing popularity, we give you three different fighting cards to wager on this weekend alone.”
This weekend is SUPER opportunity to make a profit on the fastest growing sport at SuperBook.com. With 18 fights to choose from, there are plenty of opportunities to cash in on MMA.
