In the early hours of June 24, 2007 Kimbo defeated former WBO heavyweight champion Ray Mercer in his MMA debut with a guillotine choke.

The most anticipated MMA bout outside of the UFC, sports bettors flocked to place their wagers on the Cage Fury Fighting Championships 5.  Kimbo Slice had been a -220 favorite, dropping to -175 just prior to the Saturday night fight in Atlantic City.

Thousands of avid Sports911.com readers got down on this MMA fight Saturday, making it the most bet on Mixed Martial Arts event after Chuck Liddell's Loss to Quinton Jackson in UFC 71.

Slice will be featured on The Iron Ring, a new television series airing on BET which features mixed martial arts prospects. Slice will be a part of the selection process for the participants.
