No matter where you look, it's going to be costly laying money on Kimbo Slice to beat Tank Abbott this Saturday night. At -450 odds, Slice would require a $4.50 bet to win $1.00. The Elite XC Fight max in some cases won't pay out much more than $100, though many believe this is the closest thing to a "lock" if there ever was one. The maximum bet that can be placed is $500 at Bookmaker.com - that's a few dollars more than the $450 bet that would yield a $100 win. Keep in mind that assuming Slice were to win, you would get back that initial $450 bet. Tank Abbott is said to be beyond his prime. Some books, like Bookmaker.com, would out $350 for every $100 bet on Abbott if he were to somehow pull an upset out of his sleeve. Don't count on it.
Abbott was a
frequent participant
in the Ultimate
Fighting
Championship (UFC).
As of 2007 he had a
record of 8-10 in
that promotion.
Abbott made his
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
debut in 1995 at UFC
6 Clash of the
Titans in Casper,
Wyoming. In his
opening fight, he
knocked out John
Matua, who weighed
400 lb, in 18
seconds. Later that
night he fought Oleg
Taktarov for over 17
minutes before
succumbing to a rear
naked choke.
Kimbo Slice is the
local South Florida
and YouTube legend
whose real name is
Kevin Ferguson.
He was a star
defensive football
player for Miami
Palmetto High School
in the Pinecrest
area of Miami,
Florida. In college,
he went on to the
University of Miami
on academic
scholarship, but did
not play football.
He was there for
only a year and a
half. A little trivia: Slice has revealed that he currently lives with his family in Miami, and is the father of six children: three girls and three boys. His first two sons are named Kevin, his first daughter is named Kevina and his third son is named Kevlar. His youngest two daughters have names beginning with K. ---- Don Shapiro, Gambling911.com Originally published February 15, 2008 2:00 pm EST Find More News from Gambling911.com Here ----
