Jerry Yang Pulls Way Ahead of Pack in 2007 World Series of Poker: Thanks God

Dr. Jerry Yang was 3 to 1 ahead of his nearest competition in the 2007 World Series of Poker heading into mid-afternoon Tuesday.  Yang had over 62 million chips compared with 2nd place chip leader Tuan Lam with just over 19 million.  Yang was suddenly starting to resemble last year's winner Jamie Gold.

This Jerry Yang is not the one who is currently running Yahoo!  He's a Psychologist, 39, from Temecula, Calif. with no WSOP winnings.  He is a very religious man who thanks God every time he wins a hand.

He has only two years of experience playing poker.

This is what we had at 3 pm PST:

Jerry Yang 62,485,000 5,880,000

Tuan Lam 19,275,000 30,000

Raymond Rahme 17,060,000 30,000

Jon Kalmar 16,640,000 30,000

Hevad "Rain" Khan 7,755,000 30,000

Alex Kravchenko 4,200,000
