IGotPoker review
Gambling911.com's Bones
McCoy takes a stab at IGotPoker.com. His review of
IGotPoker appears below.
Installing the software, setting up my account, and
depositing money was fast and simple. I
did notice something very familiar; I was recently on
this site. It turns out I Got Poker shares its
technology and player base with other network partners
such as Doyles Room, Victor Chandler (online sports
book) and Golden Palace (online casino). Thanks to
their clientele the competition is relatively soft.
When you make your
deposit either via Visa, MasterCard, Western Union,
Bankwire or Firepay, they automatically reward you with
a 25% cash bonus up to $100. If you use NETELLER to
make your deposit, they add an extra 10% bonus, giving
you a 35% Cash Bonus for NETELLER. Clearing this bonus
can be quite tedious though, since it is dependant on
“action points”.
These action points are calculated
according to how much of the rake you paid
whether or not you are in the showdown. For every cent
in rake that you pay, you get one action point. For
instance, if three people go to showdown and the total
rake is $.15, then your "contribution to the rake" is
$.05, giving you 5 player points. To receive a $100.
bonus you would need 10,000 action points.
Even
though I Got Poker is relatively small compared to other
sites, it has a dedicated player base with about 5 -
6,000 players at peak hours. With the vast majority of
them being tournament
players. For only operating 16 months it has been
growing at an incredible rate due to its impeccable
customer service support, smooth software, and its
financial security.
They offer all types of Texas Hold 'Em
and Omaha games, though the range of its tables caters
to newer players. The smaller stakes tables vastly
outnumber the larger stakes tables, and the larger
stakes tables are rarely, if ever fully occupied. No
Limit Ring Stakes are $.02/.04 - $10/20. Limit Ring
Stakes are $.02/.04 - $150/300. They are loaded with 6
person max tables as well. The rake is standard with a
5% take.
On limit tables up to $1/$2 there is a $1
max rake, and on all other tables there is a $3 max
rake. Seven-Card Stud High and Hi-Lo are soon to be
added.
When it comes
to tournaments they are simply loaded with them. They
really cater to the tournament lover. Their multi-table
tournaments (MTT) run every 15 minutes, sometimes 2 or 3
different types at the same time, ranging from free
rolls up to $10,000 guaranteed prize pools. Some have
rebuys and some are turbos. Sometimes you will see all
three combined. Just like
their MTT’s their single-table tournament’s (STT) are
remarkable. Buy-in amounts start at $.10 and go up to
$1,000. For each buy-in amount they have heads-up
matches (speed and turbo), 9 seat (speed and turbo), and
6 seat (speed and turbo) STT’s and for all three Texas
Hold ‘Em games; no limit, limit, and pot limit. I Got
Poker also offers plenty of Omaha and Omaha H/L STT’s.
The
main lobby is very clean cut and aesthetically
pleasing. They feature a buddy list function, private
tables, and live floor managers. Unfortunately, it
doesn't provide that all important statistic for finding
soft ring games, the percentage of players seeing the
flop per hand, but it does provide an average pot
statistic.
As far as the tables themselves
go, they too are very pretty to look at. The avatars
are not distracting, and can be customized by each
player. Taking notes is fairly straightforward and can
be done by right-clicking on a player and then writing
the notes. Unfortunately, there is no special
designation on the players' avatars to signify that you
have notes on them. In order to access these notes, you
have to manually check every player at the table for
notes that you may or may not have recorded earlier.
Pertaining
to gameplay, everything is as you would expect. The
interface is very clean and makes for faster gameplay,
as the cards are dealt out almost immediately at the
conclusion of the previous hand. The only buttons
available to tell the computer what to do in advance of
your turn are check, check/fold, and fold; there are no
auto-raise or auto-call buttons. Once it is your turn,
you have the standard buttons of call, raise, or fold.
What's unique about I Got Poker interface, is the raise
button. You can raise in increments of 2x, 4x, 8x, or
16x the BB, or you can type it in yourself.
I Got Poker
is growing rapidly and
will become one of the leading on-line poker rooms.
Players are very satisfied with the quality of games
and services, that's why there are more and more players
everyday. Come see for yourself.
