The Hopkins -
Wright fight betting odds have been posted.
This Saturday evening marks the return to the ring
of the briefly retired Bernard “The Executioner”
Hopkins (47-4-1, 32 Kos) as he puts his Ring
magazine Light Heavyweight title on the line against
Ronald “Winky” Wright (51-3-1, 25 KOs)
This is Carrie
Stroup reporting for Sports911.com.
Hopkins enters the
ring for the first time since his lopsided victory
over than champion Antonio Tarver over a year ago.
Although this is for the previously mentioned Light
Heavyweight belt, it is interesting to note that
these two veterans of the fight game have a combined
two light heavyweight fights between them (both by
Hopkins). Wright is moving up to light heavyweight
in order to fight an opponent that he has wanted to
fight for some time now.
"This fight is for the people to prove that I can
beat him," Wright said. "He wants to run his mouth,
and I'm going to close it. That's all that is. I'll
do this fight once. I'll win and go back down."
Hopkins -
Wright Fight starts at the weigh in?
It should be noted that the maximum weight for each
of these fighters for this bout will be 170 not the
usual 175 pounds for this weight class. This fight
shapes up to be tactical war and defensive match-up.
Both veterans are known for their ring savvy and
defensive prowess. Because of this, fans expecting a
heavy hitting fight full of knockout punches might
be disappointed. But that doesn’t mean this fight
won’t be worth the watch and bet explains
Superbook.com General Manager Tony Delgado:
“Boxing fans will be able to watch and bet on two of
the greatest fighters of our times this weekend. The
fact that both fighters are compromising their usual
fight weights in order to square off ensures that
these fighters are doing this fight for the fans and
the fight game itself.”

out all of the odds for this weekend’s HBO PPV card.
With both future Hall of Fame boxers winding down
their respective careers, there may not be many more
opportunities to cash in on either.
