Go Daddy Girl and Super Bowl Ad Cancelled Again
For the second year in a row, network executives have banned, not one, but two of Go Daddy's controversial test ads vying for a spot during this year's Super Bowl.
Go Daddy (godaddy.com), a domain name registrar known for its Super Bowl® commercial campaigns, announced a diverse cast of characters for this year’s spot. GoDaddy.com CEO and Founder Bob Parsons confirmed Danica Patrick will be in what he hopes will be his company’s next Super Bowl hit commercial, along with renowned ‘Go Daddy Girl’ Candice Michelle.
“We’ve been lucky with great results from our Super Bowl advertising campaigns,” said Parsons. “Each year, we work to top the previous year’s success and for 2007, we’re going all out – but you’ll have to wait to see how all these characters fit in a 30-second spot,” he said.
But on Thursday night's Hannity and Combs, Parson's confirmed that two of three test ads were turned down by the network.
Parsons promises he will try to get "another version" of the commercials to air.

Go Daddy has become the largest ICANN-accredited registrar and the only registrar to ever surpass Network Solutions in total domain names registered. Much of this is accredited to the exposure received during the last two Super Bowls. That exposure in 2005 was deemed risque, especially following Janet Jackson's notorious "wardrobe malfunction" during the previous year's Super Bowl half time show. Go Daddy would later come under intense scrutiny.
In 2005, the company produced a commercial to parody the controversy over an incident that occurred during the previous year's Super Bowl halftime show. It was aired in its first scheduled time slot, but was pulled from its second spot by Fox following complaints from the NFL. Following this, Go Daddy President Bob Parsons was interviewed by several media outlets.
Although the ad did not go over well with some viewers [9], Go Daddy saw traffic to its website increase considerably more than to the sites of other Super Bowl advertisers. This effect, however, could be attributed to the Internet-based nature of Go Daddy's business. [10]
Candice Michelle is referred to as "Miss GoDaddy.com" or the "Go Daddy Girl" by fans, and on WWE TV shows, where she also does the "Go Daddy Dance" (twirling her arm around her body) as part of her gimmick.
