Gambling911.com Pillow Fight Turns Ugly

Several injuries later and it was down to three in the first ever Gambling911.com Pillow Fight during CAP Spring Break Bahamas 2007.  The event, sponsored by BetOnline.com turned into an all out brawl as many of the participants cried foul over some of the antics.

Deb Prezman, who was eliminated in 8th place bellowed about her loss.

"I won't name names but a certain well built Cuban blonde was doing a little too much flailing around and doesn't known his own strength apparently.  He kept on slamming into my knockers!"

Deb was eliminated like most participants by being knocked off the bed.  Ms. Prezman landed on her head and has suffered headaches since Saturday's event.

"I will never enter another one of these Gambling911.com events again," she shouted abruptly.

"Deb is nothing but a sore loser and the floor is carpeted.  I don't know what she is bitching about," wondered Lawrence Prezman, her husband, who was eliminated in 6th place.

Prezman himself suffered a fracture to his prosthetic nose. 

All in all, 17 individuals donned their nighties and got to work on two beds, whacking each other with pillows and - in some cases - smothering their opponents.

"I do agree that Sparky at times became too aggressive," said Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of Gambling911.com who was eliminated in 17th place. 

It came down to three: Jenny Woo of Gambling911.com, Jodi Klein of BetOnline, and Sparky Collins, also of Gambling911.  Two girls and an Other.  In the end it was Sparky who won and took home the grand prize, a day at the spa of his/her choice, winning for his sex class - Other.  Sparky has selected a spa treatment at Nirvana Spa in Miami Beach, just minutes away from the Gambling911.com office.

One of the highlights of a pillow fight of this nature is that nighties do tend to come off.  Many of the girls, and even one guy, lost portions of their nighties, exposing private organs and breasts.

Jodi Klein used a technique where she jumped all over the bed like someone who had too much sugar.  Her top flew off on a number of occasions. 

Gambling911.com's own Flash Calahan suffered a bloody nose as well after being hit by an inadvertent elbow from the overly aggressive Sparky Collins. 

Since pillows are soft, injuries rarely occur, but the Gambling911.com Pillow Fight proved an exception. The heft of a pillow can still knock a young person off balance, especially on a soft surface such as a bed, which is the most common venue. A useful technique in a pillow fight is to bundle the nibs. In earlier eras pillows would often break, shedding feathers throughout a room. Modern pillows tend to be stronger and are often filled with a solid block of artificial filling, so breakage occurs far less frequently.

On April 17, 2005 students from the University at Albany in Albany, New York set and currently holds the record for the world's largest pillow fight with 3,648 participants, observed by Guinness Records officials. Only eleven days before, the city of Groningen, the Netherlands had set a then-world record with 2997 people taking part. Other former record holders include Duke University and Warwick University, and the Albany record is set to be exceeded itself once the official count for a pillow fight organized by the What Now? television programme in Invercargill, New Zealand is verified by Guinness.

Pillow fighting became part of flash mob culture with pillow fight flash mobs popping up in cities around the world.

It is also one of the more frequent match types among women wrestlers called Diva in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Most often, this type of match is booked as a Lingerie Pillow Fight, in which the women "compete" in lingerie and little or no actual wrestling takes place.  This method of Pillow Fight was chosen for the much ballyhooed Gambling911.com event.

For every $100 deposited at BetOnline.com, $5 will go towards Jodi Klein's hospital bill.  She suffered a fractured thumb.
