Of all those unable to attend this year's Gambling911.com party, perhaps nobody was more bummed than Bodog founder, Calvin Ayre. Ayre has been hoping that the Caribbean nation of Antigua could cut an "amnesty" deal with US officials to allow its online gambling operators to return back to the States and travel freely. The US Justice Department and some state agencies have suggested that Ayre and his cronies could have their names on so-called "Detainment Lists" though there is no evidence to suggest that Calvin Ayre is actually on such a list. A bigger fear - even with amnesty - could be states like Louisiana issuing arrest warrants, which they already have.

Sportingbet Chairman
Peter Dicks was
detained by U.S.
Customs officials at
New York City's John
F. Kennedy
International
Airport. He was
detained under an
outstanding warrant
issued by the state
of Louisiana that
charged Mr. Dicks
with running a
gambling enterprise
by computer, a crime
under Louisiana law. Mr. Dicks retured to Sportingbet on January 22, 2008. Ayre's penchant for beautiful women, booze, beautiful women, great music, beautiful women and Miami Beach provided this year's Gambling911.com party with a lure that tempted the billionaire to purchase a ticket to the Sunshine State. But in the end, he realized such a move could mean he would never see sunlight again behind bars.
