Free 2007 Week 8 College Football Picks (From the Bookies)Following a glorious run of 10-3 in combined NFL and College Football picks (4-0 of which were College Football plays), Gambling911.com's own Carrie Stroup is back with more free 2007 Week 8 College Football picks from the bookies.
----
Week 8 2007 College Football picks are here based on bookie opinions. How do we do it? We examine the most bet on teams, the amount of betting action on a particular side, and whether the online bookies have moved the line and how much.
Last week's winners were Notre Dame +13 1/2 and Oregon State +14.
If you are not bookmarking Gambling911.com and checking back here frequently for all the latest picks, might I ask why? You don't like to win? hehehe. Remember, we'll be offering free College Basketball plays soon as well.
Just remember, like every gambler, the bookies are only human and there are times they will have a bad week. Overall, by following these plays consistently, you should be able to walk away with a profit on the season.
First we will look at which teams have 75% or better action.
South Carolina 82%, Nevada 91%, Tennessee U 79%, Oklahoma 88%, California 94%, East Carolina 81%, Texas 90%, Cincinnati U 84%, New Mexico 85%, UNLV 77%
Next we examine the line movements to determine whether or not the bookmakers at Sportsbook.com maintain a strong opinion on a particular game based on zero to minor line movement when one side is heavily bet on as seen above.
We'll be looking at the online bookie's opinions based on nominal line moves and see which of the above team opponents are being viewed as most likely to win based on this analyses.
Vanderbilt +13 1/2 with zero line movement while South Carolina is getting 82% of the action there. That looks like a strong bookie opinion.
Utah State +7 zero line move.
UCLA +2 with a half point line move. 94% of the betting action is on California.
Pittsburgh U - The bookies are actually encouraging action on Pittsburgh U by moving the Cincinnati U line down a half point from -10, yet Cincy has 84% of the betting action.
Colorado State +3 - a half point line move and 77% of the betting action on UNLV.
Now we look at the all important top 10 bets of the day.
#1: TennesseeU Point Spread
#2: Florida Point Spread
#3: California Point Spread
#4: CincinnatiU Point Spread
#5: Michigan Point Spread
#6: PennSt Point Spread
#7: MichiganSt Point Spread
#8: Texas Point Spread
#9: SCarolina Point Spread
#10: NotreDame Point Spread
Alabama is an interesting situation because they were originally the -1 point favorite and now Tennessee U has been made the -1 point favorite with 79% of the action on Tennessee U. When we look at the top 10 bets, Alabama does not show up. Therefore we know that at this juncture in time, the bookies do have an opinion on Alabama, even though the favorite has changed. It's still only a one point line we are talking about.
Our plays:
Alabama +1
UCLA big time +2
Pittsburgh U big time +9 1/2
Vanderbilt +13 1/2
