Washington has the distinction of being the only state to make playing online poker specifically a Class C felony, though the law has yet to be tested and is widely regarded as having been derived out of special agendas that today are frowned upon.  In fact, there has been some effort to have the law overturned.

As long as it remains on the books, Washington State casinos will be prohibited from operating online poker rooms.

For poker lovers in Washington there are options.  Around two dozen poker rooms can be found throughout the state operated from Tribal lands.

There are cash game restrictions.  The maximum single bets are capped at $40, with a limit of three raises up to a total pot value of $500.
