Delaware Sports Betting a Huge Success, But is it Sustainable?

Delaware has seen great numbers since debuting its casino sports betting operations.  Considering the state's population is just under 1 million, it would appear that folks from out of state are patronizing these establishments.  Online sports betting is not yet available in the First State aside from the few dozen internationally-licensed websites that are accessible there.

One of the casino sports books is an easy commute to and from Philadelphia.  Another is accessible to and from Baltimore.  PA is expected to begin offering sports wagering at its casinos and perhaps online, however, the high taxes and $10 million licensing fee will likely be passed down to customers. 

The numbers are astounding. 

Delaware Park has led the pack as it is just a 45-minute drive from Philadelphia and its populous suburbs.  Parx Casino, just outside of Philly, has already announced plans to open a sports book.
