David Beckham Decision Coming Soon

Real Madrid will wait on David Beckham's decision to remain with the team, extending his lucrative contract to 2009.  However, they won't be waiting long.  Real Madrid reportedly has given Beckham until Friday December 29 to give an answer.

Beckham's present Real contract expires in June 2007. Therefore, according to Fifa rules, if he decides not to extend it, he may negotiate with other clubs from January 1.

Those other clubs include the Los Angeles Galaxy, and that Major League Soccer franchise owner is willing to pay big bucks to obtain Beckham.

Many believe Beckham, the sports best known international star, would likely reinvigorate Major League Soccer in the States practically overnight.

Real president Ramon Calderon said many times in the autumn that he wanted to extend Beckham's contract. AS claims that coach Fabio Capello now also wants Beckham to stay on, after making him first choice in Real's last three games.

.....Punters Taking The Micky As Adams Heads Sack Race Market according to bet365's Steve Freeth.

bet365 (see website here)
have slashed the odds on Micky Adams being the next victim in their Championship sack race market from 12/1 to 11/4 favourite.

“Messrs Peter Taylor and Rob Kelly have had a decent Christmas results wise, but the same can’t be said for Micky Adams.

“We saw the Sky Blues fans shouting their disapproval at the boss away at Barnsley in October, but their third consecutive defeat has seen a number of the regulars at the Ricoh calling for his head.

“The rot started at the Hawthorns, where in fairness they were very unfortunate to lose 5-0, followed by Dean Kiely’s heroics away at Luton, although the performance against Ipswich on Boxing Day was pretty poor.

“Anything but a victory against bottom placed Southend on Saturday could see the pressure mount on Adams.”
