Dancing With The Stars: Oddsmakers Favor Melanie Brown, Floyd MayweatherWhen it comes to Dancing With the Stars betting odds, both Melanie Brown and Floyd Mayweather have been set as the favorites, though still with good payout odds. For example, Brown would pay $400 on a $100 bet should she win. Mayweather would pay $450.
For those of you who might not know the name Melanie Brown, you'll probably recognize her better as Mel B - part of the Spice Girls ensemble. Mel B also made headlines this year after a bad breakup with Eddie Murphy. Supposedly she bore his child as well.
"Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather Jr. is, a six-time undefeated world-champion boxer in multiple weight divisions, will be partnering up with the fiery Karina Smirnoff.
It may also be a surprise that Mayweather, 30, signed on for the show at all — he's never really watched it before.
"I maybe glanced at it and kept moving," he told TVGuide. "This isn't about getting people to know who I am." Oh, and there's also the fact that he's got a major fight to get ready for on Dec. 8 in Las Vegas against England's Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton. "He's undefeated," says Mayweather, "just like I am."
"Dancing won't make him a better boxer," says Ellerbe, "because he's already the best boxer in the world." So why dance at all? "It's going to show my versatility," says Mayweather. Says Ellerbe, "When we first talked to him about the show, his exact words were: ‘Get me on the show! I wanna do that!'" But why, exactly? "Because I'm up for a new challenge," says Mayweather.
Other notables appearing on the 5th season installment of Dancing With the Stars include Mark Cuban, who is dead last in the odds department.
Cuban writes in his blog:
