Court Date for Injunction Hearing Regarding UIGEA to be announced shortlyGambling911.com has learned that a court date in the UIGEA injunction complaint is expected to be announced towards the end of this week or early next week.
The court will hear reasons why the process involved with the UIGEA should not continue. That includes stipulations for banks to prevent online gambling activity via credit cards.
Sources close to Gambling911.com can reveal that the banking industry is supportive of the injunction filing and feel that the UIGEA represents an "Unfunded mandate" that will costs banks billions of dollars.
iMEGA was founded in 2007 as a professional association dedicated to the continued growth and innovation of the Internet, with a special focus now on Internet gambling, which has come under severe attack by a select few politicians and powerful lobbying groups.
"We seek constructive engagement with government at the Federal and State levels to ensure that the challenges of this still nascent medium are addressed with the full participation of the people and companies that have built the Internet into the powerful influence on society it has become," the site reads.
